Nextcom, one of Israel’s leading optical fiber companies, offers an ample selection of broadband optical solutions, including PON (Passive Optical Network) solutions.
This type of solution requires that optical infrastructure be installed on campus, but the cost-savings are immeasurable: a single optical fiber connected to campus structures can serve 64 endpoints, such that a campus containing 300 structures requires only 5 fibers to be laid along the main pathways.
With PON, up to 10 GB of information can be transported over each fiber, and then distributed amongst endpoints connected to the optical fiber. Moreover, settlements can broadcast their internal cable TV over the same fiber.
PON solutions are geared mostly towards campuses such as universities, research facilities, hospitals, kibbutz and moshav settlements, hotels, nursing homes, sports complexes, or any other closed and well-defined site wishing to improve their Internet service – without having to invest significant resources in upgrading infrastructure and without having to disturb campus routine.
Our teams survey the site, determine which equipment is needed and carry out installations at customer sites in minimum timeframes and without having to bring down the sites.
Alongside the significant improvement in Internet service performance, Nextcom customers also enjoy a significant upgrade to the service they receive, made possible through a call center available to all campus members. Through such a center they can receive remote support or they can request a free, quick response technician visit, without having to wait for a maintenance person or the campus IT manager.
For our customers’ convenience, Nextcom offers a number of business models, including a model where we bear the cost of the upgrade and the customer pays for it as part of their monthly service payments.
